Connect Sync GTM to ChatGPT as a custom connector. Custom connectors are created on chatgpt.com (web).

Sync GTM uses browser-based sign-in (OAuth). There is no API key to copy or paste — choose OAuth and approve in your browser.

Enable Developer mode

  1. Go to Settings → Apps & Connectors
  2. Open Advanced settings
  3. Turn on Developer mode (one-time — enables full MCP tool calling)

Create the connector

  1. Back on Apps & Connectors, click Create
  2. Fill in the form (fields below)

  1. Check I understand to confirm you trust this connector
  2. Click Create

Authorize in your browser

  1. Click Authorize — your default browser opens the Sync GTM authorization page automatically
  2. Sign in to Sync GTM and approve

Make sure you’re already signed in to the Sync GTM app in your default browser before authorizing. Select OAuth — do not paste a token.

Enable it in a chat

  1. Start a new chat
  2. Open the + menu near the composer
  3. Enable SyncGTM MCP

Notes

  • Available on ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu.
  • On Team/Enterprise/Edu, an admin must enable custom connectors first.
