Credits are how Sync GTM tracks usage for actions that rely on external APIs or third-party services.
Some actions — like scraping, enrichment, or AI generation — consume credits when they run.
Each integration or action shows how many credits it will use before you run it.
Credits only apply to Sync GTM-managed accounts.
If you bring your own API keys, usage depends on your provider’s limits, not ours.
Managing API Keys
You can connect your own API keys to avoid credit usage on supported integrations.
Using your own keys lets you:
- Skip Sync GTM credit charges
- Get full control over rate limits
- Use enterprise-level plans from providers

You can track your credit usage in real time from the Credits dashboard.
There, you’ll see:
- Total credits used
- Remaining balance
- Breakdown by action or integration
- Which workspace or table consumed credits
You’ll also get notified when you’re close to running out — so you can top up or switch to your own API key if needed.

- Estimating what a run costs before you launch it across thousands of rows
- Comparing two providers for the same field on price per result, not just coverage
- Deciding which providers are worth bringing your own API key for
- Budgeting a campaign end to end — sourcing, enrichment, research, copy
- Tracing an unexpectedly large spend back to the column that caused it
Best practices
- Read the credit cost shown next to the action before running the column, not after
- Run 20 rows, check the spend, then multiply — a real hit rate beats an estimate
- Order columns cheap → expensive, and put a conditional formula above the first expensive one
- Do everything free first: formula columns, built-in actions, manual inputs and CSV imports cost nothing
- Verify emails last, on the rows that survived, not on the whole imported list
- Bring your own key for whichever provider you run at the highest volume

Do credits rollover? No, credits do not rollover at this point. They reset at the start of each new billing month. However, we’re actively exploring rollover support in future updates.
Q: Do I need credits for every action?
Only actions using Sync GTM-managed APIs (like enrichment, scraping, AI outputs) consume credits. Manual inputs, CSV imports, or bring-your-own-key actions do not.

Yes — the action setup shows credit cost before execution. You’ll never get surprise charges.
Q: What happens when I run out of credits?
You’ll be notified, and any credit-based actions will be paused until you top up or connect your own API keys.
