Connect Sync GTM to ChatGPT as a custom connector. Custom connectors are created on chatgpt.com (web).
Sync GTM uses browser-based sign-in (OAuth). There is no API key to copy or paste — choose OAuth and approve in your browser.

Step by step guide
Enable Developer mode
- Go to Settings → Apps & Connectors
- Open Advanced settings
- Turn on Developer mode (one-time — enables full MCP tool calling)
Create the connector
- Back on Apps & Connectors, click Create
- Fill in the form (fields below)
Fill in the following fields:
- Name
- SyncGTM MCP
- Description
- Sync GTM enrichment and GTM automation tools — find emails, enrich companies and people, and run 50 data actions.
- MCP Server URL
https://api.syncgtm.com/mcp- Authentication
- OAuth
- Check I understand to confirm you trust this connector
- Click Create
Authorize in your browser
- Click Authorize — your default browser opens the Sync GTM authorization page automatically
- Sign in to Sync GTM and approve
Select the correct organization. The authorization screen opens with an Organization dropdown at the top. Whichever organization is selected when you click Approve is the one this connection reads data from and spends credits from. In more than one organization? Open the dropdown and pick the right one before approving. To change it later, connect again and pick a different one — see Managing more than one organization.
Make sure you’re already signed in to the Sync GTM app in your default browser before authorizing. Select OAuth — do not paste a token.
Enable it in a chat
- Start a new chat
- Open the + menu near the composer
- Enable SyncGTM MCP
Notes
- Available on ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu.
- On Team/Enterprise/Edu, an admin must enable custom connectors first.
Managing more than one organization
Agencies and consultants often sit in several Sync GTM organizations — their own plus each client’s. The connection uses the organization you picked on the authorization screen, and spends that organization’s credits. Choosing a different organization in the Sync GTM app does not move an existing connection across, so ChatGPT keeps using the one you approved until you connect again.
To work in a client’s account:
- Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Sync GTM and sign in again.
- On the Sync GTM authorization screen, open the Organization dropdown and pick the client’s organization, then click Approve.
- Run
check_credits(free) to confirm which organization the connection is now pointing at.
