SyncGTM 101: GTM Automation
The starting point. By the end you will have built one complete automation — a table that finds companies, researches them, fills in verified contact details, writes a first line per row, and exports somewhere you can actually send from.
No prior Sync GTM knowledge assumed. If you have never opened the app, start at lesson 01.
About this course
Sixteen short lessons in four blocks, following the order you would build a real workflow in: get oriented, find rows, research them, enrich them, then send.
Each lesson adds exactly one column to the same table and explains why it sits where it does. Nothing you build gets thrown away, and nothing gets rebuilt — lesson 16 exports the same table lesson 04 created.
Who it is for. Anyone opening Sync GTM for the first time: founders doing their own outbound, reps who want to stop copy-pasting, RevOps people evaluating whether the product fits. If you want the theory before the clicks, GTM Engineering Foundations covers the concepts and this course applies them.
What it costs. Around 60 credits if you follow along at the suggested volumes of 10 to 25 rows per lesson. Nothing here needs a paid plan beyond the credits themselves. CRM and sequencer exports in lesson 16 need whatever plan your destination tool requires — the CSV path always works.

Skills you will gain
- Describe any GTM workflow as a table before you build it
- Choose the right intake route for a list you already have or one you need to source
- Point an AI research agent at a question and get a consistent answer per row
- Read a waterfall result and know whether it underperformed
- Turn a research answer into an opening line a prospect will actually read
- Get a finished list into a CSV, a CRM or a sequencer without losing fields
In this course
Getting oriented
Four lessons, no credits spent. You finish with an empty table configured correctly, which is most of the battle.
- 01What you can build with Sync GTMA clear picture of the product, what it is not, and the course ahead6 min
- 02The four-stage frameworkFind → Research → Enrich → Outreach, and why running them out of order costs you money8 min
- 03Workspaces and tablesYour account structured so two pieces of work do not collide7 min
- 04Your first tableAn empty table configured and ready for data9 min
Find
Getting the right rows in. Three intake routes, and the judgement call about which to use.
- 05Getting rows into a tableThe three intake routes compared: CSV, import action, CRM sync8 min
- 06Finding companiesA filtered company list imported from a search rather than bought as a file10 min
- 07Finding peopleDecision-makers pulled at your target accounts, by title and seniority10 min
- 08Finding local businessesA geographic list built from map listings, with the fields a local play needs9 min
Research
Two lessons on the part no database can do for you.
- 09Research with AI agentsAn agent answering one specific question per row, consistently12 min
- 10Scraping a company's own siteFacts pulled from pages no database indexes10 min
Enrich
The expensive stage. Four lessons on getting it right and keeping the bill down.
- 11Enriching peopleVerified work emails and current job titles on every row10 min
- 12Enriching companiesHeadcount, funding, tech stack and traffic attached to each account10 min
- 13Waterfalls and creditsWhy a column sometimes costs nothing, and how to keep it that way9 min
- 14Cleaning and classifyingMessy inputs turned into values you can filter and sort on8 min
Outreach
The last two lessons turn the table into something a prospect receives.
- 15Writing copy from your dataA first line per row that references something real about the account12 min
- 16Exporting to your stackThe finished list in a CSV, a CRM or a sequencer, with fields mapped9 min
What you will have built
A single table where a row starts as a company name and ends as a contactable person with a verified email, a researched fact about their business, and a written opening line — with every step repeatable on the next batch.
Concretely, by lesson 16 your table has:
- A sourcing column that refills the table from a saved search instead of a file
- A research column answering one current, checkable question per account
- An enrichment stack returning a verified work email with a known hit rate
- A copy column assembling an opening line from the research answer
- An export that lands the whole thing in your sending tool with fields mapped
That table is also the starting point for Automated Outbound, which takes it from a list to a running campaign.
Before you start
- A Sync GTM account. The free credits cover the whole course at the suggested volumes.
- A rough idea of who you sell to — a segment, a size band, a geography. Lesson 06 turns it into a filter, so “mid-market fintech in the UK” is enough to begin with.
- Optionally, a destination: a sequencer or CRM you would send from. Lesson 16 covers CSV as well, so this can wait.
Nothing else. You do not need a list, a CRM, or any prior automation experience.
The habit this course is really teaching
Run every new column on five rows and read the output before you widen it.
A column that produces the wrong shape of output on row 1 will produce it on all 500, and you pay for every one. This costs a few credits and saves a lot of them. It is the single most common early mistake, and every lesson that spends credits repeats the check.
