Find Company Website Traffic
Give it a company domain, get back website traffic data. Cheapest of the three traffic tools.
- Tool
find_company_website_traffic- Cost
- 1 credit per run
- Category
- Company Signals
- Required input
domain- Returns
- Website traffic data
What it does
- Finds website traffic data for a company.
- Provider-agnostic waterfall — it is not tied to one data source, and it is the cheapest traffic option.
- Takes a domain only.
- Use it to size accounts, not to run an SEO audit.
Three tools answer traffic questions and they are priced by depth. This one is the cheapest at 1 credit and returns a traffic number to size or rank accounts. Step up to semrush_insights (2 credits) for SEO signals — top organic keywords and backlinks — or similarweb_insights (2 credits) for audience and competitors — visits, engagement and traffic sources.
Use cases
- Size accounts before you spend on enrichment. One cheap number per domain is enough to rank a raw list and drop the bottom half.
- Sanity-check company size claims. Traffic disagreeing with headcount usually means the record is stale or the company is not what the firmographics say.
- Prioritise a marketing-led ICP. For products sold to web-first companies, traffic is the qualifier that headcount misses.
- Track an account’s momentum. Re-run the domain over time and the trend tells you whether the business is growing into your price point.

How much traffic does stripe.com get?Rank an account list
Get website traffic for these 80 domains and sort them highest to lowest. Use
find_company_website_traffic — I want the 1-credit tool, not SemRush.Escalate only where it matters
For the top 10 by traffic, run semrush_insights so I can see their organic
keywords.Example prompts
| Ask your client | What you get back |
|---|---|
| ”Traffic for stripe.com” | Traffic data for that domain |
| ”Rank these 80 domains by traffic, cheapest tool” | 80 lookups for 80 credits |
| ”What keywords do they rank for?” | Routes to semrush_insights at 2 credits |
| ”Who are their closest competitors?” | Routes to similarweb_insights at 2 credits |
Best prompting practices
- Name the tool in batch prompts. “Use
find_company_website_traffic” stops a client from reaching for a 2-credit alternative on every row. - Pass a bare domain.
stripe.com, not a landing-page URL. - Use it as a sizing filter. Traffic is a cheap proxy for company scale — run it across the list, then spend the expensive tools on the top slice.
- State the threshold, not the vibe. “Keep accounts above 100k monthly visits, drop the rest, tell me how many survived.” “Decent traffic” is not a filter and your client will invent the cutoff.
- Ask for the numbers as a table. Domain, monthly visits, source field — a summary that says “solid traffic” cannot be sorted or thresholded.
- Know what it is not. No keywords, no backlinks, no competitor set. Those are
semrush_insightsandsimilarweb_insights. - Number the steps when it gates spend. Step 1 traffic across all domains, step 2 keep the top slice, step 3 enrich only those. The whole point is that step 3 runs on fewer rows.
- Cap the batch. “Stop after 50 and report credits used.”
Output
{
"domain": "stripe.com",
"monthly_visits": 24000000
}Credits and limits
1 credit per lookup, flat. Run check_credits (free) before a large batch.
Because this is a provider-agnostic waterfall, the field detail can vary
between domains. If you need a consistent, named-source metric across every row
of a report, use semrush_insights or
similarweb_insights instead.
