Get SemRush insights for these 12 domains. Rank them by organic keyword
count and flag anyone with high traffic but a thin backlink profile.Turn the data into an angle
For acme.com, list the top organic keywords and tell me which ones a
competitor is likely outranking them on. Draft a one-line opener from it.Example prompts
| Ask your client | What you get back |
|---|---|
| ”SemRush insights for acme.com” | Traffic, top keywords, backlink data |
| ”Which of these 12 domains rank for the most organic keywords?” | One record per domain, ranked |
| ”Just tell me roughly how much traffic acme.com gets” | Cheaper via find_company_website_traffic — 1 credit |
| ”Where does acme.com’s traffic come from?” | Use similarweb_insights instead |
Best prompting practices
- Say “SEO” or “keywords” or “backlinks” in the prompt. That is what routes your client here instead of to the cheaper traffic tool.
- Pass a bare domain. One domain per call — batching several means several calls at 2 credits each.
- Screen with the cheap tool first. Run
find_company_website_trafficat 1 credit across the whole list, then spend 2 credits here only on the domains that clear your bar. - Ask for the conclusion. “Which keywords are they losing?” beats a raw keyword dump you then have to read.
- Do not use it for audience data. Traffic sources and competitor comparisons live in
similarweb_insights.
Output
{
"domain": "acme.com",
"traffic": 184000,
"top_organic_keywords": ["invoice software", "billing api"],
"backlinks": 12400
}Credits and limits
2 credits per call, one domain per call. Run check_credits (free) before a large batch.
Small and very new domains often carry little or no SemRush data. An empty or thin result usually means the domain is below the provider’s coverage threshold, not that the site has no traffic.
