Find Companies

Find Companies searches the company index and creates a row per account that matches your filters.

It is the account-first half of TAM building: define the companies you sell to, land them as rows, then find the people inside them.

What it does

  • Searches the whole market for accounts, not a list you upload
  • All filters combine with AND. Multiple values inside one filter combine with OR. industry: [Software Development] plus employee_range: [51-200, 201-500] means “software companies with 51–500 employees”
  • Most text filters take an include and an exclude list
  • Range filters (revenue, funding, traffic, ad spend) match when a company’s band overlaps the range you set. Leave a bound at 0 to leave it open

How to use it

  1. Open the table and click Table → Import → Find Companies
  2. Set industry or keywords — what the company does
  3. Narrow on size — employee range, revenue — and HQ location
  4. Add a signal if you have one — funding year, web traffic, ad spend
  5. Exclude what you never sell to (Staffing and Recruiting, agencies), set a result count, run it, map the fields, and click Create Rows

Schedule Auto Import

Turn on Enable Auto Import to re-run the search on a frequency with the same filters and column mapping — useful with a rolling filter such as last funding year. Every scheduled run counts against the monthly allowance, so cap the result count first and dedupe on domain. Schedules live under Manage scheduled imports.

Common use cases

  • Size and build a TAM. Industry + headcount + HQ country is the core account list.
  • Recently funded accounts. Last funding year and type surface companies with new budget.
  • Spend-based targeting. Ad spend and web traffic ranges separate companies investing in growth from ones that are not.
  • Investor portfolios. Lead investor filters pull every company a fund backed.

Best practices

  • Keywords are broad; industry is exact — combine a keyword include with an industry exclude to cut noise
  • Prefer employee range brackets; use exact employee count only when a bracket boundary matters
  • Start with a small result count, check the columns, then scale — every row counts toward the monthly limit
  • Dedupe on domain before enriching
  • Follow with Find People Within Company to reach the buying committee
